Sooo... I let my bobs out a few days ago and they flew off out of the pen and hadn't seen them since last Sunday. Well, we went to go check on the birds (chickens) today, I was letting them free range, the whole ENTIRE cubby showed up and was just walking around our feet like nothing had happened.

Mine will be laying in a few months. :)

How old are they?

Well that's just thirteen. 70 is just a little bit bigger number to work with.

Started with 120 eggs. Hatched 70 and now I'm down to 26 now. They eat more than my chickens!!!

I know right!!! We have to do something with them!!! Lol!

The quail have gotten huge! We are planning on cooking them really soon or selling them. They eat soooo much for such little birds!

Got some hay in the pen finally!!! The game bantams, silkies, Cochin bantams, quail, & the goose are all hayed down. I've another bale coming in sometime this week to give to the laying hens and rooster. The quail are getting so big!!

Okay, yeah that sounds a little difficult to get into. Maybe he'll come out.

Do you have a leash?

Okay. If he feels like getting fancy you'll probably here him. Do you have a dog?

If you listen at dusk you can here their call if he's old enough.

When it gets mating season he'll be back ;).

Haha yeah. We hatched off 70 chicks. Had to put down three. Lost about 20 from pecking an smothering.

They lay at 16 weeks. They have a laying season, too. So you and I probably won't get any until next year.

When they are completely feathered? Because we don't want to be eating the wrong ones. LOL!
