I just realized I never shared the link in this thread to Bridgette's puppy thread! https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/lemons-dog-adventure.1607948/
I'm thankful for those who've already helped answer so many questions!
Wow, you guys have a lot of good information! I think whatever breeder I go with, I’ll want to be careful, but mostly what I care about is a breeder that genuinely cares about and for their dogs
I also wanted to share some pictures pups that I’ve helped foster, friends dogs, our two current silly seniors, and GDB dogs (Guide Dogs for the Blind) pups I’ve been helping train :D
These two (the black and yellow labs) are GDB’s in training
These are dogs we’ve fostered! At one point we...
Washington, but as @SpotTheCat said, I’m unable to wait more than a few months but at the same time I know it’s really important to get from an ethical breeder.
Is this about accurate or what you’re looking for?

Yes, exactly! And I’ve fostered dogs before from my local humane society, and generally they just aren’t quite right for the job. Usually they have some sort of behavioral issue, like resource guarding and such. BUT I love them, and rescues can be total angels, they just aren’t usually quite...
Wow, I’m a bit confused. I know I should be very, very careful with choosing a breeder, although my therapist is advocating that I get one asap for the extra support and refocusing that mental energy on a pup rather than my depression.
Yeah, I’ve been asking around. I’ve talked to people when I’ve been in the ER a few times for my mental health, I’ve asked the GDB leader if they know of any (I help train Guide Dogs for the Blind)
I’ve asked neighbors and friends, my vet (still haven’t heard back from the vet) and other people...
Ok, thanks guys. I’ll have to think about this. My parents wanted me to only get one from someone who breeds specifically for temperament and stuff so it seemed like a good fit, and I’ve appreciated the quick text responses from the breeder. But sounds like not a very good option?
Any other...
Yeah, their website is a bit old and they’ve changed some things, although those are some good points.
I think their main goal is to have pups with good temperaments and that are healthy; and at least a few from their litters have been service dogs. Their OFA’s are normal from what I could...
The pup will either be an ESA or PSD (Psychiatric Service Dog) for myself. I’ll be doing basic obedience training and then working with a trainer for the more specialized training
Hey guys! I'm hoping to get a puppy soon. I've been looking at this one breeder, Denzil's Goldens. https://denzilsgoldens.com/
Does anyone think they look good? I've been able to have good communication with them which is positive, they’re very kind about responding and are open to me visiting...
