OH MY GOSH!!! Didn't you post these on Magistream.com in the How Was Your Day Thread? I remember it. ???
Sorry I sound like a little kid xD. I'm not. I'm a teen lol
UPDATE!! CHICK IS ACTUALLY MIXED.
Sweet but feisty thing lol. Wish it wasn't mixed because we don't like mixes, but if it's a pullet it can stay because we haven't been keeping too many pullets just for eggs.
Luna hatched her first baby ever! First time she has ever gone 'broody', she is approx 3 years old :)
Baby appears to be a black silkie I accidently may have left his egg in the pen from.
A true ameraucana has a beard, muffs, pea comb, slate feet and a tail. She can't be "true" if she has araucana as both are different breeds. I feel she is just an Easter egger or clean faced blue aaraucana (mix?)
QUICK! Get them off that newspaper and onto paper towels or cloth! If you dont soon, they may get splay leg from slipping on it.
Just trying to help save you trouble sO
Adding to that, your breeds are
1- barred rock
2- Production red/sexlink
3- welsummer/brown leghorn?
4- golden laced...
Pop quiz!
lavendar ameraucanas arent standardized yet, but we have 6 of them, including a rooster. They all have peacombs and every single chick we have hatched so far has had a pea comb. Momma stormy decided to hatch some eggs, 4 hatched, 1 died. The lavendar chick, however, has what seems to...
yes.. she was quite big, but not big enough lol. Some of them were piled ontop of one anouther and she even started playing chick by trying to huddle under them,
here is the other one we bought wither her. We still have this one.
yay! The black chick turnwd out to be a big faf helathy black...
Omg! Do you have a crowing silkie hen too! I had one, but my dad said she was misfortune, so we sold her, she was an amazing mom and we regret it because she was seperated from about 12 young several week old chicks by a fence. She went crazy, so we let her over. Then she became their adoptive...
Well, I guess I never announced.... my POLISH hen went broody a few weeks agol we were amazed because they never do. She successfully hatched both of her eggs and they ended up a male and female! We are so happy!
for begginners, I would start with the silkies because they are easy to handle, people love them, and they are very sweet. Also, roosters dont fight real bad when put together. Polish should be for the more experienced because you have to take care of their crests and they are prone to mights...
I thought hatcheries only sent out white silkies ? Its that way here, only seen brownish silkies that should be white.... they should add black and blue silkies !
For the one with the baby polish... looks like three girls and a boy? Questioning because the liittle one doesnt have a big topknot.
for mmclaughlin, id like to see their tails as soon as they all grow one. For the combs, a good straight headshot is best, but its so hard to get those xD. Do...
