I bought mine from Greenfire. They sent mostly black but I have a couple blues too. The Blues are pretty but the blacks throw Creme or silver in their hackles...so handsome!

Nice work with the pips!!! I had no pips when I went to bed last night and one loudmouth at about 3am. Hard to ignore since my incubator is in the upper foyer. Hoping for a few more pips...nothing yet!

I also like to hatch my shipped eggs in a clean egg carton with holes cut in bottom for circulation. This hatch I used a toilet paper roll and made little egg stand for it. One got knocked down but they did well for me. I had separated a hatch with a small piece of bubble wrap...

...that seems super odd for ants to decimate all the eggs overnight...your hen would be chewed up too. Something must have got them...or they hatched and something got the babies??? ...as far as the broody hatch I am a newbie too. I keep sticking eggs under my broody. She has a D'Uccle baby...

Well, I am thrilled at the hatch last night. 5/5 Cemani hatched, 2/4 silkies and one EE hatched. I am amazed because my hatching incubator is out of service. These guys went through lockdown with my peafowl hatch, Cemani and bantams. I did keep the humidity at lockdown at 55% and they were up...

Thanks Purpletie3 aND Cppeace, I've got another batch shipping tomorrow to try again. Learned a few lessons and tips along the way. There's such a demand in my area for olive Eggers I just want to have enough to keep a few and sell a few and break even $ if I'm lucky. Hatching is pretty cool...

...only three doors down. No barn. We are finishing a 10x20 coop right now to drag down the road. However, my barn is a separate parcel. Up to two cemani pips...woot woot! I hope to get at least 3. It was hot at Chickenstock when they were hanging out in The shade. & about the early lockdown...

@pyxis ...one pip on the Cemani. One pip on the silkie and the lil one I stuck under my broody @ lockdown hatched... After this wave I have lavender Americauna eggs and another go on the call ducks! Then I need to cool the incubator so I can move next month...
