So today is National Creamsicle Day so anyone have pics of Silkie/CL pics to post? Don't think I'll get one. I lost my Silkie Roo and my CL roo would probably be too rough for my little Silkie hens. They seem so delicate.
Side comment to Easter Eggers. I got some EE pullets from McMurray today to add to my laying flock and they all look like little chipmunks. Different colors and markings but they all have those chipmunk stripes. A couple of them look remarkably like CL baby girls. I wonder if they're using...
That is is interesting and so odd! Were the pullets mean too? I have a Buff Orpington hen who is on the low end of the pecking order - i have always considered both breeds to be non-aggressive. Thanks for the heads up! I think I might avoid that mix. Too bad - those are beautiful birds1
Would any of our esteemed CL genetics folks be willing to answer some general "Cream Legbar Genetics for dummies" questions? In simple language for dummies? Yes like me.

1. If you cross a CL Roo with another breed when would you expect to see (or chances of seeing) white spots on...
Wow - I don't even know what that is. As I was reading along and you said it was in the oven, I thought "Oh - must be some kind of Olive Oil".
Off to look it up.
Has anyone tried CL Roo crossed with Easter Egger hens? I hatched 2 yesterday. Would you expect autosexing/head spot in a male? I don't see a head spot on either but also don't see eyeliner. Waiting for them to fluff up to take pictures but I think I saw some slight striping down the back on both.
. That's a good idea. Maybe I'll find a docile CL hen to live with them. And I like the idea of putting the coop 6" off the ground. I may try to retrofit mine with a new base.
Thanks CP!
So I bought some silkies to make Creamsicles but hmmmmm… they're a little weird. I'm starting to wonder how they'll get along with my CLs once I try to mix them. I'm afraid the CLs will decide they're freaky weird aliens from outer space and eat them. And frankly, I'm not convinced the...
