Yes, I crossed a blue with a buff once. I got one pure blue rooster and one that was blue with gold leakage. Both of them weren't ideal for showing but they were very pretty.

Thank you for your response! I was leaning toward breeding them with a black rooster. I think that'll probably darken their spots, too. I feel like paint x paint would lead to ones with more dilute spots. The black would have to be split for paint, though, right?

I have four pullets: 3 paint Silkies and a black split to paint. What would be the best color rooster to breed to these girls to get nice loud paints? Black or Paint?

If it's a local fair I wouldn't be that concerned. The main thing judges look at for the feet is the correct number of toes. The correct spacing is not as crucial. I think it's worth a shot and it's also a great experience even if you don't place. Also, if you're looking for a nice show...
