I haven’t had others to compare. They give nice big off-white eggs pretty often. And these haven’t been broody. I don’t keep good track of who is laying how often.

They were castoffs from a breeding project byc member @ChicKat was working on. She gave me a gorgeous roo and several nice hens, with two being Isabella leghorns. I have one hen and one offspring left from her. I met her halfway in Texas.

I haven’t had any birds that laid tear round except some ex-bat hens I picked up at an auction. They were super sweet to me, loved to be held and cuddled. But they ate nonstop and beat up the other birds.

We had a big day too!

I’ve seen on fb that folks are having trouble. I have a mystery death in the yard. It’s slimy all over. I caught the calf sucking on chick tails yesterday, so I think she crushed or suffocated it. Usually a snake it’s only slimy on the head.

We don’t get them like others do. Not sure why. I don’t specifically do anything to prefect them... maybe our bat population? We have bad mosquitoes periodically. Fowl pox gets pretty bad.
