I'm thinking that is what happened with my east indie eggs. I broke down today and ordered a 2ns incubator to move eggs to for lock down. Hopefully this fixes my problem.
Thank you, it's been a long night/morning. I now have 2 that have hatched, with 2 more close behind. Not sure about the other 7 eggs I have going nothing is happening with them at this point in time. Not my best hatch 4 out of 12, I got 9 out of my 12 calls to hatch.
I'm not sure what happened with it, it looks like it got shrink wrapped dont know why the humidity was good the temp has been steady I just don't know. I blame myself if I had stayed awake and helped that baby I might have been able to save it. I do have 2 hatched now with 2 more close behind...
They are still in the shell, I can see beaks poking out. Have 3 more that just started to externally pip. They are coming out in different areas though, like the sidesnot the bottoms where they should.
I have more shipped eggs coming its tough to find the ducks I want close enough to pick up...
I have 12 total in the incubator. 2 have externally pipped but are a day early. Hatch is due tomorrow. These were my first experience with shipped eggs and wanky air cells. I stress like crazy I swear I got more gray when my calls were hatching.
Stressing really bad. Had an East India make a small external pip last night when I went to bed. He was still active when I checked on him at 2am, now there is no notice nothing. I've tried talking to it and lightly tapped it once and nothing. What do I do?
The only part of me my dh or did saw during the call ducks hatching was my back and food well they were on their own. Husband knows the drill now he asks about bringing dinner home cause he knows I'm not cookin while there is hatching going on.
Cross your fingers I am in lock down with 12 East Indie eggs today sure hope I have as good of luck with these little guys as I did my call duck eggs. I will be the one crouched in the kitchen over the incubator for the next few days til they hatch.
I know how that is my chickens and ducks were "my thing" but now my husband has become mr involved and has built me the fort knox of chicken/duck houses and the run he is getting ready to build will be about the same way. Love it.
Don't feel bad I thought I had hatched 10 ducklings, got up the next morning and could only find 9 ducks. I tore the brooder apart looking for the extra baby until I realized duh there were only 9. Go figure. Lol
