I don't have a roster so I am not 100% sure about this, but I think the reason that your girls don't squat for you is because they see the roo as the dominate one. If they are squatting for him then yes you will be getting eggs soon!

You didn't give them the egg raw did you? If so that's not a good idea they can take a liking to raw egg and start breaking open and eating every egg laid. But CONGRATS on the first egg!!

Ariekannairb your EE looks so much like my Gretta that I lost. She waited to lay until she was 39 weeks old. She laid me 5 beautiful green eggs before something took her while she was free ranging with her flock mates. She had a very sweet personality I really miss her.
