    Pekin Duck Club!

My male Pekin, Luna Ray, constantly attacks my lil pit bull dog, she is three years old. He will run all the way across the yard back and forth to get her. My dog loves that he chases her and will stand there with her butt to his beak to ward off his pecking. Occasionally she will pin him...

I use an aluminum dog bowl with a heavy bottom. Its about 6 inches in diameter too. It doesn't tip and I have never had a problem with my three pekins pooping in it. I let them free range my yard during the day and I keep their food and water in the shade for them under a tree. I have a 125...

After I lost one of my females to Rectal Prolapse I introduced a new female with my existing female and darak, my drake was horrible to her. He had her neck raw from attacking her and having his way with her. I tried very hard to protect her but it was difficult. I have a divided yard and...

    Pekin Duck Club!

My male was getting very rough with my females and hurt one of their eye lids one night when I put them up. Since then I put the male in a separate hut at night as the females could not get away from him locked up together. During the day they can escape his grasp a little easier and at night...

Do you want babies is the question? I don't let my ducks have babies are there are so many unwanted animals in the world I don't want to add to it. Also, 9 out of 10 times when someone tells you the story of the duck they owned, they either don't remember what happened to it or it had a tragic...

I I feel horrible to say before I lost Frankie p I did not know how much calcium/protein they shoul have in their good. The floating pellets had 14% protein and.85 to 1.35 calcium. Laying ducks should get between 16-17% protein And more calcium.

We raised our first duck, Frankie Peepers in the house as a baby. When we let her out we first had her hanging out in the coop with our chickens for company. It was so cute watching her bond with them. She also bonded with my pit bull. I have video of her following Maxine my dog. Ducks are...

I have a horrible habit of spoiling all my babies. I have a relationship with the local fruit stand and I get lettuce for the ducks for every day as this is the only treat they love by trading chicken and duck eggs. They also trade me food for the chickens too. I love to be able to give them...

    Pekin Duck Club!

Its a lot of work. I have made it a little easier finding new ways to manage it. The duck poop is so thick that even at 125 gallons if I don't change the water out every 5 or 6 days it becomes foul. I got a whole filter system I paid 100 dollars for but it was useless in keeping the pond...
