Is this normal for a muscovy?

I'm fairly new to muscovy ducks. I've had chooks for years now so I'm familiar with keeping them.

I've been given this muscovy, from a friend of mine. I'm guessing it's a female as it's showing good wing development and has very little colour on its face?

What I'd like to know is, is there something wrong with her wings? They're always sticking out! Is that just the way their wings grow in, and then they tuck them under later on?

I've also added a photo of my 3 wee muscovy ducklings! I'd love to have an idea of what colours they may turn out to be!

Cheers :)

She has what is called angel wing. It's due to extra calcium I believe. It's quite common in muscovies. Not sure on how to fix it though...

It's caused by too much protein in the diet as they are growing, not calcium. ;) But yes, that is angel wing and it can usually be corrected by wrapping the wings. That is a very bad case, so I would suggest wrapping both wings as soon as possible. There is lots of information here about angel wing and how to wrap the wings to correct it. You'll also want to make sure whatever feed she is on now is not too high in protein. I can't think of the proper percentage right now, but you can do a search on here for "angel wing" and find all that information. Good luck!

Thank you for your help! I've got a few threads here to look at now, hubby is home to help me wrap her wings.
