Hey all!

Just wondering if any of you, like me, love the hobby of RC and/or FPV.

If so, do you drive (car/buggy/truck), fly (heli, multirotor/FPV racing, airplane), or float (boat)?

Personally I have driven RC cars since as long as I can remember and flown multirotors/quadcopters for the past 20 months or so, and within the past couple months got into FPV.

Let's talk RC!

I've flown RC since the summer of '09, but I haven't had the time to do it for about the last year. I still go to the field and hang out with the guys at least once a month, though. I'm going to get back into it soon. I'm a planker, I like the fixed wing aircraft. I like old balsa planes, but I've also scratchbuilt a few foamies I found on RCGroups.

I haven't had much interest in FPV until lately, after acquiring my 60 acres. I've been thinking about getting something I could fly over my acreage just to check things out. I know I could do that with an airplane, but a quad would probably be better. I want something with a return to home feature as well, because most places are pretty thick and if it goes down, I'd never be able to find it.

I also have a model railroad that I haven't worked on in probably 5 years, I like model rockets, but haven't done that in a long time and I like control line airplanes. When I was a kid, basically, if it'd move, I'd build it. I hope to build a dedicated shop on the new farm just for my railroad and building airplanes, but we will see.

I love all types of Rc's. Very big into them. Mostly cars and trucks things like that. RC rock crawlers are my favorite type. I have alot of parts,Rc's,etc. Run groups, a crawling team, building my own course etc....

Saying hey to everyone. I've always wanted to fly RC planes but never had a good trainer and I crashed every time I tried.

For christmas my wife got me a small inexpensive hexcopter. Its the easiest thing I'd ever tried. In February I was stuck on the couch for weeks so I decided to build a nice custom hex. Been a little challenging but a big success. Added camera and FPV screen and it's been a blast.

Now I decided to start a foam board seaplane. About half done. Maybe with the hex experience I can finally learn to fly a plane.

I've always liked RC stuff but never really got big into them. My son and I watched that DRL show and we got mini quad copters. I was flying mine out side yesterday and I took it just above the tree tops in my back yard and the wind took it into the tree, 35ft up. So that sucked, I climbed halfway up and tried shaking the branch but it wouldn't fall.

Lol. I've been treed 3 times. Knocked it out of one tree, cut another tree down and my new copter was retrieved by throwing a rope over it. My biggest problem with the copters is I lose orientation real easy then i go the wrong way. :barnie
