Strange beak w/other symptoms UPDATED WITH PIC Pg. 2

Yup, it does look that way. The funny thing is that when she eats that bump goes in and out like 1/4 inch. Very weird looking, kinda looks like a beak.
 
Beaky died this afternoon. It was just a matter of time. She went peacefully sleeping. She was half the size of the others and was not progressing at all.

I'll miss her following me around and running then stopping right on my foot to pick her up.
 
I'm so sorry you lost your little Beaky, she tried real hard for you and you were a good mommy.

Thank you, I'm kinda glad it happened earlier than later. I really didn't think she could survive the winters out here. She was a real trooper though.
 
I'm having the same problem with one of my Maran chicks, 2 months old. She is half the size of her sisters. I just noticed the malformation last week but she seemed fine. Then it occurred to me that she may not be getting enough food.

I'm new and don't see where I can save this thread so I'm commenting to be able to come back to it later. I'm sorry your chick died even though it was almost 10 years ago
