Yup! I call it "sun time" as opposed to clock time. The critters don't give a flying leap what clock or calendar says. They go by when and where the sun rises and sets.Ah...changing of the clocks each Spring and Fall...what folly. We do change our clocks to be practical but like many others, we pay little attention to where the hands are on the clock but instead, we operate on Dairy Goat and Chicken time.
The chickens, dogs and cattle can be a bit forgiving despite the barking and bawling and of course, the birds always have feed of some sort but the dairy goats WILL be milked on time or there will be hell to pay....They become obstinate and surly, won't let down if one tries to milk them too soon and will drip if the milkers are just a bit too tardy. They like change even less than I.
It's always been my notion that by simply 'splitting the difference' and letting it stay at that could work for all concerned but there is little or no common sense amongst the "Powers that Be".
