Percy is adorable and looks like she is full of personality.

Welcome

Miss L-Do not think that would go well at all! LOL. Plus, ducks live outside and the chinchilla is an indoor pet only. He is a tough little guy, not afraid of the cats or dogs. But I think the ducks might be a little much for him.

See if this works. This is my little monster, Cyrus. I just love this little critter to pieces. He is such a character. He was a rescue. His original owner was a 7 yo boy who did not take care of him (neither did his mother) and got mad cause he nipped. He came into the shelter with cracked feet, dry coat, expired food and a terrible fear of people. They sent him to a foster home and she did a lot with him to bring him around, but it still took a long time for me to gain his trust. We have had him for 5 years and he is now very friendly, and loves to interact with me. I am his personal climbing post. He either sits on my shoulder or my head! Chins are very very interesting pets. Not for everyone apparently, but if you want to put some work in, they are so much fun.

Cyrus is so cute, Can you litter train them?

I have never heard of anyone litter training a chinchilla. A lot of the rats I foster I have litter trained, but doubt he would do it. He is sort of paper trained though. I put him in the bathroom for play time and he pees on a newspaper I put on the floor. Never goes anywhere else. But poop is different, chins poop A LOT and everywhere. It is easy to clean up though. I just sweep the floor and wipe the bathroom sink, toilet and tub area (he jumps and runs like a maniac when he is in there). Takes no time at all. I clean his cage daily, that takes me about 5-7 mins. He is worth the work and time I put into him. They are such adorable critters and so unbelievably soft.
