I have a funny story for you about the chicks

So I move my basket in the incubator to three different positions each day so that my eggs are turned thoroughly.

I went in there when I went to go check on the chicks and I realized that the basket was crooked. I never put the basket crooked in there.

I opened up the incubator and lifted up the basket...

There's a chick in it 😂😂😂

I thought my eggs were possessed. I almost got the sage out 🙈

There is a backup on I 80 from before Davis to over the Sacramento River Causeway nearly every weeknight here. It is so bad that it impacts my commute home to Davis on hwy 113
I do long distance driving a lot....nothing more frustrating than stopped traffic. Usually my guide dog transports are 10 hours up to NY.....sleep...pick up puppies and drive 10 hours back. One time I was almost across the Ohio border headed home and there was an accident. I was parked on the freeway for 2 hours......puppies howling.... I still had to travel around to deliver puppies to people here and there....they were all expecting me...it wasn't good.

Transporting animals would make traffic like that a bad experience!

I've been doing it for 10 years.....Some years 20 trips...some years 8-9....just never know. If a dog needs to go to the vet up there...I take them. If they are done with the 18 months of raising I take them back up. I set up meeting places to meet the raisers all over NE Ohio. There are many high school kids who raise a dog...and then it's so heartbreaking when I meet them to take the dog back. I end up driving away with the dog and I'm in tears. It's a tough thing but many many folks do more than one....they know that it's a beautiful gift to give!

Our two cats were rescues from a foster program here in Davis
