Change Chicken Ordinances in Birmingham Michigan

The Birmingham Michigan chicken ordinance says that "No person shall keep or house any animals within the city except animals commonly classified as pets. No chickens shall be kept in any dwelling or part thereof." I would like to change the chicken ordinance, but I need help or advice on doing so.
 
I'm in Ann Arbor, where we have both the original chicken ordinance and its more recent amendment (making it easier, increasing number of hens allowed). If you have a city council, you just need one person to take on the issue, convince them it's worth pursuing. In AA, it happened that the councilperson himself wanted to keep chickens.
