All the edges of the HC will be covered with trim attached with lots of screws going thru the HC, right?

Thanks aart . Yes, 2x4's on the exterior and 1x2's on the interior will conceal the edges and further secure the hardware cloth.
 
I don't know about you, but installing the hardware cloth on the corners where you had to cut out a small square was the hardest part. That and getting the spacing right so that it didn't buckle up in one spot.

Not sure I follow on the "small square" part. My happiest part of the HC install was an inexpensive cutting tool from Harbour Freight for cutting the HC - finger cutting/time saving investment !
