A NEW Black peacock !

Interesting, does the farm with that peacock have a website? It would be interesting to know the parentage...
We have been discussing this on one of the FB groups and we think it is either derived out of Charcoal or it is just bad lighting. Very few people thought it was a unique or new color. Charcoal is most likely and the white in the barring is from the Pied gene.
 
The owner of the black peacock is a micro-breeder! 10/15 peacocks.
One color = Blue ... some patterns ... pied , white, black shoulder.
No Charcoal in the area, no split charcoal ... no research around the color charcoal!
It is a spontaneous mutation!

"the white in the barring is from the Pied gene." never heard of anything like that! A perfect wing like this ... never seen! except among wild blue peacocks!
