I bake a lot of bread and rolls/biscuits in winter.

Sourdough burger buns-

Very nice. Did you brush those with egg or what to get the shine and even browning?

Thanks I use 1 egg yolk mixed with some double cream

My "ancient" traditional oven still works fine (hope I didn't just jinx it), so no new convection oven in the near future here

If your using wood then that's even better.

It's electric, just over 25 years old and only ever had to replace the thermostat once.

Lol i trade you i want one that works that well!!! My stove top of my oven is slowly going out. Three burns out of four work and i have another one that sone days doesnt want to work i am going to have to buy a whole new one since its a combo one.

lol sorry. My oven is convection and about the same age as yours, little rough around the edges but get's the job done.

Not much of a "sweets" baker but once and a while I get a sweet tooth-
