Any Home Bakers Here?

Hi everyone,

I got some good news. I was able to get a hold of a pasta roller attachment and a ravioli maker attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. I’m just waiting for them to get here, so I’m doing research on how to make pasta because I’ve never done it before.

This will be a first for me, I’ve never made pasta.

If there is anything I need to know about making pasta, please let me know. I’m very curious.
There is a fun pasta recipe in the google sheet: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/any-home-bakers-here.921333/page-238#post-15897139

Here is a recipe we like. We use regular white, pastry or Eincorn flour.
We are experimenting with a few flour mixtures at the moment so there might be more on that later.
Ezekial flour is one that we like with this recipe, although this recipe calls for salt I don't add any salt in the dough because I would rather add the salt as needed when the noodles are cooked.

Thanks for the recipe!

When I make Pizzas,, I always have extra dough. I choose to make some variety with it. Made these breadsticks, and a Garlic bread loaf.
This was Sunday with my apprentice.
Took one pound portion of dough, and spread some herbs. Then I kneaded it into dough. Divided into 6 portions, and made the breadsticks.

Out of oven baked. They are still somewhat blonde. I was baking other things,,, (cakes) so these shared a 350°F oven. I did not want to dry them out,, so took out when internal temp was 200°F

My other extra dough,, Rolled out,, and dusted well with garlic powder. Then rolled up, and baked.

Bottom of bread out of pan. I like using parchment. Makes pans easy to clean.

This was the cake I baked Sunday. I call it Black Forest Cherry. This is something we used to make in Dutch oven camping. This version has eggs, in it whereas The camping version did not.

My ingredients. Yes,, it is slightly cheating using a packet cake mix. Making that cake from scratch is not very difficult. Cavey may admit to slight cheating, (using a packet shortcut),, but not lying.
Those eggs are from my hens less than 4 hours fresh.
Also added ½ cup canola oil.

I used a stand mixer to mix all,,, and poured into my spring form, and baked.
