First Egg Countdown

It's 79 degrees today in So. Cal! Expecting eggs from my pullet soon. I put out a nesting box for her last week, she hopped into it every once a while, lays there for a minute or so, gets up and walks away. Maybe she's practicing/expecting??? Tomorrow I will throw out more crushed egg shells for her

Yep, she's practicing.

One of my wheaten marans just laid her first egg yesterday, she's about 28 weeks old. I am so excited, I can't wait to set up a breeding pen for these guys...

It makes a great complement to my green, blue, and pinkish eggs!
