Ok I gave in and finally bought two incubators. Going to buy some eggs from either ebay or MPC since I can't find any near me. I was wandering around the net and found this page http://brokeneagleranch-com.3dcartstores.com/Tips-on-Hatching-Shipped-Eggs_c_26.html is this tip better than just letting them sit for 24 hours? What other tips can you give me? I'm incubating in my basement which seems to stay about 60% humidity.

ok, sooo. I can only give you what I have been doing. I have incubated about 8 clutches with good rates in the right conditions.
I am in SE Texas. I use dry humidity method - 25-35% until lockdown. {no water added}
I let my shipped eggs sit 24 hours without moving them so the air sacks settle, pointy side down.
I use the turner from day one of incubation thru day 18 as suggested.

THEN, I take them off the turner, add the water and I have to add wet cotton balls around the perimeter to get my Humidity up to 70%+ thru hatching.

I would check into having the humidity at a consistent 60% from day 1-18. Some say the embryos will drown....

Good Luck!!!
