Great Depression of 2016

I see President Obama has decided to not go to the G8 summit to protest the Russian action in the Ukraine. I guess it will be a G7 summit then. They will talk about us if we don't go.

Also, I see gold hit $1355 this morning.

Well a lot of the other 7 wont go.

Any talk of conflict will always raise the price of gold. Good thing the dollar isn't backed by gold.

Wheat corn and oil are up also.

Militarily there isn't much we can do. We really only have economic weapons we could use.

You do not believe that our military could take on the Russians?

If it were a matter of men and weaponry, I have no doubt we could.

It is only the issue of nuclear weapons that is an issue. No one wants that.

Do you think the Russians are scared of a bad economy or a supply cut off? These are the Russians who had no problem starving 10 million Ukrainians to death during the Holodomor.

Not to mention the millions they rounded up and forced to work to death in their gulags.

A blockade only makes a repeat of history an attractive option for them.

They would have no problem doing the same things that North Korea is doing now or China for that matter.

A sense of fair play and adherence to the rules of engagement are not something that the Russians have ever been known to hold in high regard.

Vladimir Putin does not care. He is a powerful, cold, Russian grizzly bear of a man, who is not afraid of Obama or anyone else. Pretending like he cares about a meeting with the U.S. or anyone else is no concern of his and pretending like he cares is a mistake.

Every second Russia is building it's forces in Crimea and entrenching themselves, while the rest of the world thinks that Putin is somehow going to be talked down. With each passing second as they entrench, the longer, harder war it is going to be to remove them, which means more U.S. and other lives lost.

We either need to go now, with everything with have or not go at all. We do not need some pathetic bit where we send a few soldiers and not provide the full might of the U.S. Military behind them.

Putin is not playing, why are we?

I would prefer not to go to war. At this point, Obama has already turned us into a laughing stock and I would rather not see our men die to protect his already bruised ego. We can not be the protector of the whole wide world. We have enough problems here at home to take care of.

Why is it never Americans first here at home, but certainly Americans first abroad every time something bad happens in another country?

It is my opinion that we have spread ourselves thin enough as it is.

I truly hope that Obama, despite my discontent with him, can defuse this situation and I swear that if he does I'm pretty sure that me, along with all of his naysayers will never utter another word about him not really earning his Nobel Peace Prize.

See how wrong some rumors can be.
Who pays for the Police to watch and make sure people on probation or inmates pick the stuff up? whom pays for the trash bags to be picked up and hauled to the landfill/incinerator/transfer station? We the tax payers do.

I don't know how it works in your part of the country, but here in Arizona most of the clean up is done by volunteer organizations. I would much rather see old retired people and church people along our highways rather than murderers and scoundrels. For their part, they get a sign saying that this mile is cared for by such and such organization.

Most of the highway rest stops have been closed due to budgetary considerations. That means a lot more nasty trash.

We have a lot of desolate highways and not many people to clean them. It you decide to get into this, be prepared to deal with rattlesnakes and scorpions.
