A little intro into the adventures of Charlie and Harry horse. Charlie is my son and has just turned 14 on December 29th. Harry horse is 19 years young. They are both the most special parts of my life. Charlie enjoys country sports and is really coming along with his clay shooting. He's enjoying it very much at the moment. He also likes helping with the animals and gaming.
I've had Harry horse for 12 years now so Charlie has pretty much grown up with him. Harry is an ex racer who has a heart of gold. A little quirky at times but all the same he is safe and sensible. He's brought me many hours of joy and happiness over the years and I hope he will for more to come.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well?

Soooo.... we are going to have a new addition to our family. (No I'm not pregnant!)

But we have this little beauty joining us in a couple of months. He was born on Wednesday and as yet is nameless. Any suggestions on names for Charlie to chose from would be appreciated

He's a little "sprocker" Mother is a cocker spaniel and Dad is a full sprocker. Half cocker half springer.

Charlie has been gifted this puppy by the game keeper and his wife where he's been helping this summer as a thank you. Charlie came to the rescue of the keeper a few weeks back when he got stung and had an allergic reaction. Charlie had to ring the ambulance as the keeper was out of it on the floor. The keepers wife said he did a marvellous job of getting the ambulance there, calling her too to say what was going on and dealing with the keeper. I truly am a very proud mother at the moment!

Charlie didn't know anything about getting a puppy but me and his dad have known for a while. The keeper and his wife did ask us first to make sure it would be ok. We had to keep a lid on it until they were born. We dropped him off yesterday at keepers cottage and had a look at them. That's when the keepers wife sprung the surprise on Charlie as he was looking down on them! First time in a long time that he's been speechless!!!

"Keeper" is coming on a treat He will be 3 weeks old tomorrow.

Thank you both It is nice to know in an emergency situation he knows what to do.

I'm so pleased he held it all together and thank goodness the ambulance got to David the keeper in time. The reality of the situation set in for him later in the day when he let out a big sigh and said "Well that was a bit traumatic" Then the what if's started from him. "If I hadn't been there he could of died" I just reassured him that he did all the right things and he was there to help and things are all good now.

So he’s feeling much better this morning and is walking better too. He’s totally hyper though with feeling better and is raring to go, I can see today being interesting! He did have a bit of an unsettled night but that’s to be expected. He’s gobbled his breakfast down, catching up from yesterday I guess when he couldn’t have anything. Will pop back in later with an update

Have you considered giving him a Kong chew toy or a bone or hoof or something to chew to keep hom occupied?

I’m going to call at the pet shop on my way home this morning from Harry horse to get additional toys and chews. He already has a bag full of stuff but we need more to swop them about! A kong is def on my list

I got the most wonderful surprise this morning
A chicken rug for Harry from my other half!

I had seen it but didn't get it as Harry has a good wardrobe already but I was very taken with it!! I said no to the other half and that I was going to save some money. He knew how much I loved it so went back all by himself to get me it as a surprise!! Love him

Just can't get better than that, chicken print on my horse!!

Hope everyone is well?
Everyone seems to have been busy lately for riding so I've been out on my own with Harry. I was expecting him to carry on with no pals but he's been remarkably good

Not got out as often as I would like either, the weather has been very changeable and no way am I going out in this!
