We got a couple free and fixed from the Humane Society where we are. I would try there.

Our local shelter had working cats for adoption. Aka barn cats. Maybe a shelter in your area may offer the same?

x3 on contacting your local county or city shelter system. Even if they don't have a program for feral cats themselves they may have a group they work with that does placements.

Just to bring closure, we ended up adopting a couple of cats from a friend of a friend who had several needing placement. They’re doing well, and staying close to home after being kept enclosed for the first two weeks.
