Yes it definitely applies to all birds, at least they're inside for the winter at the moment.https://www.gov.uk/government/news/avian-in...er-2016-to-2017
Additional information here. Extended to the 28th February.
Does anyone know if the restrictions should be applied to other birds? My quails are still indoors but will be going outside in spring, hopefully after the restrictions are ended but I want to be up to speed on the risks just in case.
I don't know about the co op, but I got a pack from B&Q.A migratory bird (a wigeon) was found in wexford and tested positive for avian flu so its officially hit Ireland. I saw the news but didn't hear anything about compulsory housing till I went poking on the department website.
Very frightened for duckie.
Are ye sanitising (if so with what)? Would my local co op have foot covers?
The 28th of February!! :-( Does anyone know of any good affordable disinfectant that kills bird flu?
I'm afraid so.WHAT HAS IT BEEN EXTENDED?!?
That looks amazing! I'd love a poly tunnel for my girls during this lockdown :-(OK! So not too long now. The storms have stopped so managed-with the help of my fantastic neighbour-to set up poly-tunnel today. Must admit have not kept them in totally but have taken every precaution to keep food and water away from wild birds. Planning to make poly tunnel into a chicken paradise ha ha. Will grow loads of veg in summer.
