I had a hen sitting on some eggs and three were fertile. One hatched but the hen killed it so the other two eggs (which were pipping) I put into a box and moved to my airing cupboard. They both hatched and I them in a little brooder in my bedroom! One of them sadly died (I think it had breathing problems). The other one was fine though and is named Hobnob! He is a Light sussex x and it 4 months old now. I was almost certain he was a cockerel to start with but the wattles and comb aren't very large and he hasn't started crowing yet (which I would've expected by now). It doesn't matter whether he's a hen or a cockerel but I was wondering. At four months old i would have expected it to be obvious so I'm wondering whether he's an hermaphrodite?!
Thanks in advance!
