I've been meaning to make more videos of quail doing their thing. Here's a squad of freshly-molted hens eating treats for breakfast.
Aside: my birds may or may not have Marek's—one hen has recently presented with symptoms and I culled her after her legs gave out due to unilateral muscle wasting. A state scientist told me that the virus is endemic in my area and the flock would get hit eventually. But I was also told that their chances of survival given proper nutrition could be better than 50%. So my flock will shrink, their needs may change, but I'm determined to provide them with quality care until the very end.
Aaaaaaaaand as much as I love them, when all the quail are gone, I can finally get into chickens (big, hardy gals plz). Vaccinated this time, of course...
