MARYLAND THREAD!

Anyone local to Cecil County with bantam cochins and seramas? I have bantam calico/mille cochins and love them.
Hi,
I wanted you to know I am in Cecil county in the Elkton/Rising area. I don't have any of the breeds you mentioned, just wanted to introduce myself in this forum. I am getting 8 pullets from another member at the end of this month that can no longer keep them.

Hey everyone :D We we're about to have our run setup and were wondering where to get chicks from? We're not too picky on the breed, though we'd like some silkies! I'm thinking day old chicks would be the way to go for us. We won't be able to have any roosters so sexed chick would be great! We also don't have a car and are in the middle of Baltimore so that could be an issue.

We'd also be more than happy to split an order with someone near us.

It depends right now you can order them. They will ship to a local post office. Most farm stores wont get any in until later, in spring.. so it depends on how soon you want them. You can also hatch them if you own or buy an incubator (warning very addictive) I love hatching my own. If you hatch you can buy local fertile eggs or order them. Hatch rate on shipped eggs depends on the shipping experience the eggs go through though.

Anyone able to help? I’m in Frederick county and have 6 silkies that need homes. Tornado last week took down a tree and crushed their coop and I can’t keep them in the garage any longer. Going to be awhile before I have funds to rebuild a coop for them. They’re 16 weeks old now. Two black, two blue, and two splash. Not completely sure on gender.

I’m on the Eastern Shore, near Pocomoke, and I’m selling off most of my Phoenix flocks. I breed mostly silver, also some blue silver, golden, blue golden, a few splash. We have produced some very very nice birds with 12”+ saddles and 36”+ tails in first year. I have chicks, young birds and up to 3 years old. Many proven breeders. Most are in breeding pens or a mixed variety flock so even though the tails aren’t as long as could be, the saddles will show the growth. Pics are an example of my birds.

Available roosters
8 month golden
2 year blue gold breeder
14 month golden breeder
3 year golden splash breeder
7 month silver
8 month red splash
9 month silver
2 year blue gold breeder
14 month blue silver
8 week old cockerels- Silver, Golden, Blue Silver, Blue Golden

I can get pics of specific birds you are interested in. Any rooster can be paired with a hen. Pickup Pocomoke, MD or ESVA. We are VA NPIP & AI clean. Serious inquiries only.

Anytime now you can probably buy young sexed chicks of a few varieties at places that sell farming and gardening supplies. For instance, Homestead Gardens and Tractor Supply Co.
