Here are some banana squash that were harvested yesterday. Some of them are over 2 feet long!

Today I'm making the final decisions on which Muscovies I'm going to save as breeders and which ones I'm going to butcher.

I'm mostly focusing on solid chocolate and several different shades of blue fawn for next year. Oh, plus I'm going to do some experimenting with this other color I hatched out this year. I'm still not 100% sure which color is yet.
I saved back 25 Muscovies total. 7 old ones and 18 new young ones from this year. I'll post pics and more details soon.

We're going to butcher them tomorrow. There are 37 of them. We are going to butcher some chickens tomorrow, too.

Here some of the ones I'm saving. These are the young ones. The old ones aren't pictured here. Sorry, these aren't the greatest pics. I was in a hurry, and after being chased around all day, the ducks wouldn't let me get close enough to them to take good pics. I'll get better pics of them in the future, that's for sure. I also think it's easier to take better pics when the sun is starting to go down, and it's not leaving a weird glare in the pics.

Are all those you are going to process going to freezer camp for your family consumption???
Reason I ask,,,,,,,, Would it not be also good to process one, or two at a time, as needed.

Yes, they are going to freezer camp for family consumption. We have to get all of them butchered immediately because we can't afford to feed them for any longer.
Our Muscovies do provide us with eggs, too. They are not as good of layers as other breeds, but they still do pretty good at giving us eggs.
