I didn't get a chance to post a couple of things before Easter so I thought I would add them now. For you Dr. Who fans I give you the DalEgg: "Eggsterminate!"


And this is what happens when Easter Eggs hatch:

I have 15 babies! And I do believe we are done. My goodness, strong little ones too. Glad I set those eggs. I have some pretty little babies.

Exactly 1 week after I set eggs for this HAL, my Chocolate Orpington Bantam laid her first egg. Lots of folks said don't hatch the first eggs. I didn't listen, I really couldn't understand why not. So I set the egg with the HAL eggs, along with two more she laid the next two days.

Guess who just hatched??? EGG #1!!!

...and egg #2 has a pip!

I have hatched many "first" eggs. They usually hatch just fine as long as they are fertile. Since the eggs are a bit smaller, the chicks start out smaller, but they usually catch up just fine within a week or 2.

I could of swore I posted my hatch number, but I guess I forgot! I hatched 10 chicks.
