One of my new babies was getting her new tail feathers picked at and was bleeding, so I washed the blood off and had her in my lap while she dried. Princess Buttercup decided that she wanted in my lap at the same time.

Luckily I sold eight of the chicks this week, so now I'm back under 30. When my husband first agreed to chickens a year ago
, he asked me to keep only three

Buttercup is our only cat. We've had her since she was a kitten. She's nearing 16 years old and has trouble walking sometimes. The chicks seem to make her happy. She purrs like crazy, but she will move away from them if they peck her eyes or try to squeeze under her.
