Just goofing off with one of my EE baby's. Brought them home as (day olds) on Easter. I am pretty sure they were 2 or 3 days old I'm in S. nevada so it's already warm hitting about 85-90 in the day. Moved them outside but they are put in their coop at night with what I call warm tv lol 😆

I do!! I have one adult and 5 new EEs born this past week!

This is Honey. She’s extra special—one of her pupils is damaged and is heart shaped ❤️ And the damage that occurred caused her to be almost blind. She sees okay with some assistance and memory, but she’s in with my silkies and d’Uccles because she is not aware of where she is enough to not be picked on when getting in the way. While the others like to scratch for their treats, Honey gets to eat from the can (she’s spoiled 😍). The vet said that blind or partially blind chickens are often super thin because they don’t find food as well, so I don’t feel bad letting her eat what she wants from the treat bin once a day. She’s healthier now than when I got her ❤️❤️

And these are my very new, all my own chicken EE chicks. Their Dads are one of my two lavender Ameraucanas and their moms are my lavender laced English Orpington or one of my three (now two RIP Newbell) BCM Marans hens.

I have a ‘Starlight Green Egger’ (are all Eggers ok?) and an Easter Egger.

Sam, the SGE, lays tan eggs. She’s about a year old.

Yuki, the Easter Egger, is 5 years old. She rarely lays, but when she does it’s a light green. Yuki is the one in my pfp.

Got my first EE. She’s a beauty. Stella, she’s 6 months. I introduced her to my “flock” (3 golden sex links) yesterday, but they still haven’t accepted her. How long does it take for a new pullet to be accepted into the flock, or at least to stop being picked on by the other hens? My other three girls chase Stella until she hides. I make sure she has access to food & water, but I want her out free ranging.

She’s very pretty! It can take awhile depending on the personality of the birds. I think she may integrate better if she had a buddy though…your RSLs sound like a tight group and a lone girl may take a long time if ever to fit in if alone. I would start with supervised time or look but don’t touch time, where she’s safe and they can see her and get used to her. I’ve even seen one of my hens that grew up with another hen, pick on her after she was away being broody and raising chicks for two months! They can be sensitive ladies! 🫤

I kept Stella and my other girls separate, with viewing only, for two days. They didn’t seem too interested in her, so the other night I put Stella in the same coop with the other girls in the evening, before the other girls went in. Fortunately, they were all alive in the morning. 😛 I just wish they would stop picking on her. It breaks my heart. 😢
