Nice big medium brown. They are porous though!
 
If you check on the side where the "Sell By" date is there should be a three-digit number. Sometimes they'll have a plant code, so a letter or so beforehand. The number indicates the packing date on a Julian calendar (001 being Jan 1st and 365 being Dec 31st). Figuring out what date that number is will tell you how fresh they are.

How old are these?
 
Well, it might explain why they seem a bit porous.

Sometimes if you dig to the back of the shelf you find the fresher eggs as they put the stuff they need to move out front. (Same goes for bags of salad and packages of meat)
