I'm not very creative, I'm afraid. Back in the day (wayyyy back) we had a CB radio in the house. My "handle" then was CalicoBlue - I was also a quilter and that was back in the day before the quilting resurgence hit. In fact, a neighbor once referred to me as "That poor woman on the corner who has to make her own blankets."
When I first got on the internet, I hosted a quilting chat room for AOL. My name was, of course, CalicoBlue. It was much like this place - a whole group of people from all kinds of places with all kinds of experiences and all kinds of skill levels with one common denominator - here it's chickens, there it was quilting. CalicoBlue got shortened to Blooie. I have friends even here in the area now who almost always refer to me as "Blue" or "Blooie". I didn't see any reason to change that.
My avatar is special to me. It's actually part of a photo my daughter and had taken of us on our first cruise this summer. We had a blast. It's the first time in quite a while that my daughter has relaxed and actually interacted with people in her old, friendly way since the death of her oldest son - my grandson - two years ago.
See, nothing imaginative, nothing creative. It just is what it is.
