Ingredients:


1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
pinch salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. pecans, optional

Pie:
4-5 whole apples
1 unbaked pie shell
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg
1 c. whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Cooking Instructions


For streusel topping, combine the first six ingredients in a small bowl. Cut in butter and add nuts. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 350°. Peel and slice apples and arrange in unbaked pie shell. In a large bowl, mix sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Add egg, cream, and vanilla and mix well. Pour into pie shell. Bake on lower shelf 20 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle streusel topping over top. Bake 40 minutes more, until golden brown.


Note: For a lower fat recipe, use 3/4 cup whipping cream plus 1/4 cup fat free french vanilla coffee creamer in place of cream.
