Good description of the coop; it sounds really nice. More pictures would make this article even better, though :)!

Good use of recycled materials. I wouldn't use a bungee cord to lock the door, though!

Would be nice to know the dimensions and what makes it low maintenance...

Really cute coop - I love the theme. And the description of the materials is helpful. The coop does seem a bit small for all those hens, and better pictures of the build would be nice. Otherwise, good work!

The front artwork is lovely! It would have been nice to see more picture of the build, though.

Seems a little small, but a cute coop nonetheless! The ceramic wall protector and box below the roost is a good idea.

The article really doesn't describe the coop, and the one picture is blocked by trees and a fence.
All good ways to save money here!

Informative article on pasty butt! I didn't know what it was when I first got chicks and had to come here to find out.

Also I remember someone here suggested feeding repeat offenders some instant oatmeal...don't know how well it works, just thought I'd share :).

Thanks, Eva! I'd never heard of the oatmeal thing. I'm guessing it's due to the increase in fiber. You'd obviously have to offer grit with it. I've never had to clean a chick more than twice, but I'll keep it in mind if I have ever have one that's struggling beyond that.

You have such an entertaining writing style!

I wish I would have thought of this when I was trying to make a soupy mash for sick birds over the years. Would have been a lot easier than hitting the pellets with a hammer :D!

Right?? $20 well spent, in my book. Thanks for the kind review. :-)
Great article summarizing the benefits of raising ducks. I love ducks and would absolutely choose them over chickens - they've almost no pecking order and are just so cute!

This gives a nice list of toys for your quail, but pictures of them using the toys would improve the article.

Seems like a good idea for keeping your water dish from freezing! With the new system, do you still have to wrap the container in heat tape?
B

No, the heat tape under the container is warming it as well. Our nights are mid-to-upper 20's now and it stays liquid.

Nice start to a coop, but unfortunately never finished.
This appears to be an attractive, well-made coop, though it would be nice to have a more detailed description of the building process. I like the matching brooder!

Nice article explaining why (Embden) geese are underrated, though it would be helpful to know more about their dietary and temperature requirements.

They mostly eat grass and some grain (I make my own homemade grain mix, it's pretty easy) and they are very hardy surviving (pretty comfortably) in -30 weather.
