If you want to give it a go, you can experiment in little steps by buying small bags of the grains, pseudocereals and legumes you want to try in the supermarket. And since they'll be human grade foods, you can eat any of them too; I discovered cowpeas that way!

So, a little over 1 year ago I purchased a prefab coop (“on sale!” “pre-Easter rush!”) and got so overwhelmed I left mostly everything in boxes.
