Many people like grits. But nobody really adds cheese to their grits. This is a recipe on how to make cheese grits for 3-4 people.
Ingredients:
-1 cup of Quaker Old Fashion Grits
- 4 cups of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of extra sharp cheddar (cut into 1/2 inch cubes or grated)
Directions:
1. Heat up water till briskly boiling.
2. Add grits and salt into water then stir and cover
3. Every 2-3 minutes stir and recover. Be sure to scrape the bottom of the pan. You may need to add water if grits get to thick. Grits should cook for 15-20 minutes.
4. Slowly stir in cheese. Grits should turn yellow. Add mor salt to tast.
5. Cook and egg or add jelly, and serve!
I add different thing to my grits like an sunny side egg, steak, jelly, and butter.
