1. True Bantam
Seabrights are one of the few breeds that are considered a true bantam. True bantam is basically when the chicken only comes in the small bantam size. They don’t come in large fowl or commercial size. Sebrights are very light and fit right in the palm of your hand. When I hold my girl I barely feel her waight.

2. Personality
These girls and boys have large personalities. They generally are not broody and don’t care about there eggs. One of my girls baries her eggs once in a while. Sebrights love attention and act a lot like teenagers. Some Sebrights don’t care what you do to them while, others won’t let you touch them. They will follow the owner of the bird around. They are not hard to teach small commands like come. They respond by there names at a young age. They get attached to one and other easily. Overall they all are different; some are bullies and others love all birds.

3. Aggressive
You may be wondering why in the world would I put aggressive as a good quality. Think about this; a petite chicken in a group of large chicken. Sebrights have to stick up or they become the end of the pecking order. This breed is one I like to think as a chicken that rules with power by force. They can be very aggressive and as my friends say “little monsters” at times.

4. The Looks
These small birds make up with their outstanding looks. If you are looking for a show bird this is a good option. They have a rose come that in the hens is barely visible sometimes. The picture above shows three hens one of which has a straight comb (not breed standard). They come in a few verities but only the golden laced and silver (white) laced are excepted for show. Sebrights have a upright position and hold their tails and heads high. They always look happy and full of energy. They have slate legs and red/turquoise/purple ear lobs. This breed is something called hen feathered. Hen feathering is when the males don’t have hackel and sickle feathers. The cocks look the same as the hens but with more pronounced features like the comb. They have sleak bodies and are very soft.
