Very, very simple! I went to Petsmart and they gave me a big dog bed box - it already had a front cut out. I simply added a cut out door, hung a heat lamp from overhead, and then then made their "play yard." Their play yard is one box ($15) of shelving unit, double stacked, and then has a cardboard draft around it. I'm sure I'll have to add another layer, as the holes are big enough for chicks to escape. I covered it with an old screen, too. Put a water and feeder up on bricks, added shavings, and it was finished. I built the whole contraption inside a horse stall (10 x 14) that we are converting to their coop.
