This is a 2nd coop design that my husband built by request from a lady in Mountain Home Idaho. Its his own design inspired by the Amish style coops. He had built the smaller model that housed 6-8 back yard hens. This particular coop is by far my favorite of the models that he has built. It can house 8+. It has a pull out drawer for easy cleaning, a vent masked with shutter on each side, 4 nesting boxes (2 on each end). The back has double doors with heavy duty hardware for access to the main area of the coop (the smaller model doesn't have the access doors). The construction is framed 2x2 walls, sheeted with plywood then sided with ceder pickets. The roof is lined with roofing paper then shingles. There are 2 roosting sticks that run the long way inside the coop. After constructing it he realized how heavy it was and added the wheels. This is great because it makes this coop really easy to move. Nesting box to nesting box is 7'. It is 3' wide and stands about 6' tall.
