Hopefully all of you have heard of Mike the chicken since you are are chicken lovers, but all i'm doing is diving deeper in depth for that. Hope you learn something and it doesn't gross you out!!!
Mike the headless chicken was famous for living without a head for over 18 months. What had happened is his owner, Lloyd, was sent out by his wife to retrieve a chicken to eat. He had picked mike, a five and a half month old cock. The axe missed his jugular vein, leaving part of an ear and most of the brain stem intact.
Even after his failed beheading, Mike was still able to perch and clumsily walk around. He attempted to preen, peck, and crow, though with limited success, he made a gurgling sound with his throat. Mike was fed milk and water via eyedropper, and little grains of corn.
Mike died in March of 1947. He was at a motel in Phoenix and he started choking in the middle of the night. Sources say that his severed trachea could not properly take in air and thus he choked to death in the motel.
