We have continued to add to the coop as we are learning.
My husband and I have four beautiful girls -
April: White/grey easter egger (lays blue)
Blondie: Buff Orpington
Willow: Black Australorp
Kelly: Barred Plymouth Rock
I just wanted to share some pictures of them! Scroll to the bottom, as I update regularly!
Above: The girls the first night they spent in the coop. It was a work in progress the day they got home, so they spent a day or two inside a tool shed.

Above: Blondie is becoming even more of a lap chicken than Willow!
2 above: First real snow storm of the year. The girls were not pleased! And neither was I...
Above: First snow storm means putting plastic around the coop. I had to do it myself because my husband is bedridden with pneumonia. He offered to go outside in single-digit temps to help me and didn't quite understand why I said it was a bad idea. So instead he shouted instructions to me from a window. As you can see, the plastic kept the coop and run 16 degrees warmer.

So gorgeous at night. First big snow fall of the year.
On a whim, we put 100 mealworms in a tank with wheat bran. If we had planned on raising mealworms, obviously we would have bought closer to 1000. But we just came home from the pet store. Anywho - our first beetles!
