My flock may be small but all the chickens sure do have their own special personalities and I would like to take the time to share them with you!
Moo Cow ~ Buff Orpington
Moo Cow is by far my favorite chicken! I know, I know, I shouldn’t have favorites, but I do. Anyways, when we got Moo Cow she was in bad shape (covered with poop and limping), so we brought her inside and give her a lot of baths and made sure her foot wasn’t hurt to bad. She ended up becoming super tame and a great egg layer! She loves to be held and stroked and was even shown at the Fair this year.
Arlo ~ Easter Egger
Arlo is a sweet and docile Easter Egger hen. She lays pretty light brown eggs and keeps to herself most of the time. Her best friend is Henny. Like Moo Cow, she was also shown at the Fair this year. She loves to sit on eggs, though we’ve never let her hatch any out.
Buttercup ~ Buff Orpington
Buttercup is a gorgeous hen! She and Moo Cow love to chase bugs and sleep together. She’s a bit wary of humans, but is a sweetheart once she gets to know you. She was not shown at the Fair this year, but we hope to show her next year.
Henny ~ Easter Egger
Henny is a gorgeous hen that lays wonderful green eggs! If only she was more tame and we could hold her more! Despite her “un-tameness” she was shown at the Fair this year and surprisingly behaved herself.
Thanks for reading and check back in the Spring because we should be getting some more chicks! Before you go, have fun looking through these pictures of the flock together. And also, all the chickens have been recovering from molting, so that’s why they (especially Arlo) are missing feathers in some of these pics.
