I have a good hatcher, borrowed from a friend. It's a Brinsea, but the economy model. So I have turned the eggs and kept the water at the right leven according to the instructions. But something happened. Only seven of the 25 eggs managed to hatch even though almost all of them were fully developed. I feel horrible.

So now I'm not going to hatch any more before I've bought a hatcher that is fully automatic. But I hope some of the hens would like to brood during the spring and summer so they can raise them themselves.

It is a learning process, but it hurts to know so many of them could have lived if I had done everything right. I did something wrong and I don't know what.

But this cute little fellow got out and is thriving.
