Can one Chick survive by Itself?

I had a similar situation once where the hen killed two chicks and I rescued the last one. I raised him by himself and he wasn't introduced to other chickens until he was several months old. I have to say, while he was fun to have around, he didn't fit in well with the other chickens. He never wanted to be close to other chickens and he actually looked quite terrified of them. He would try to find other places to roost at night, and eventually became an aggressive rooster. I don't think his aggressiveness was from being raised alone, but it probably didn't help. If I had to do it over, I would try to get another chick or find a hen that would take him.
