Very nice little brooder. This could only be for about three to four chicks for about two to three weeks though. But, if that's all that's needed, nice brooder and great explanation of how it was built.

Nice idea for the first few days. Size needs to be increased considerably though.

The wire rings to hold the light and the wire divider are creative, but the brooder is very small and not well-ventilated.

Excellent pictures of the best budget small flock starting brooder. Newer versions feature options such as a heating pad instead of a light, but overall the rest is about the same.

A decent plastic tote brooder for when the chicks are small.
