-NEEDS EDIT- Lean-To Coop

What a great built! That looks like the »Happy Chicken Inn« hotel. I love the exterior look, it looks like a saloon from an old western city. I wish something like that would work for my ducks. Maybe i should steal your ideas and then tell my wife "Now that we have this beautiful coop, we just need some chickens"? As a chicken, i would want to live in such a stylish and safe home!
Very envious, and thanks for including pics :thumbsup
I love how you included such detailed pics and descriptions. And great covered run! Love it!!!
Love it!
Great story and photos. Love the functional charm, charm, charm of the Dutch Hip and also, you have saved a piece of your personal history. I think that it's pretty cool that you, like dad and uncle, did it yourself. You sound very aware of the wildlife around you and ready to adapt with raising chicken needs. I think you were resourceful, (too many to mention... egg catch, pooh catch, bench) and clever in areas and that you AND your girls will live comfortable and practical = happily ever after. Bravo! please keep us updated with your chicken adventures! Great upcycle!!!
Well done build with a lot of information to get ideas. Thank you.
Beautiful looking outbuilding, functional hen house. Lovely.

This is an awesome redo of an old out-building. The "before" picture is a nice, rustic scene, but the "afters" - Wow! The rustic style stayed, but with a major upgrade! Lots of great diagrams and elevation sketches. LOVE the Plexiglas window treatment for the door! This is inspiration ... I want to move in!

Edit - 12/15/18 - Nice update to an already great article. I wonder if anyone will miss the chipmunk?
Article very well done, I especially love seeing updates after practical use! Your pics and drawings will be very useful for others.
Chicks are beautiful and look happy, so great job!

While I enjoyed reading about the provenance of the building and it’s updates, I think the best part was the continuing story - I really loved that you kept updating the article to include both the good and bad things about it through the seasons.
This is the type of practical information that people really need to build or develop a coop. Well done!
Oh and ps that rusty roof is to die for!

Thanks! ... btw, I saw you were from Thunder Bay... I fished eagle lake and it’s surrounding portage lakes for several years in the past, it’s very pretty up there... I’d like to back up that way.
Good detail photos, drawings, and updates. I always like seeing how coops have been updated since completion. Thank you for sharing!
I love the story behind your coop! You did a terrific job with the additions and it is heart warming to know how many generations and pets have been cared for there. Very nice!
WOW what a detailed article! And the design is great!
